The new Visitor Center in Vintgar Gorge
Custom door design to match the architecture
The new Visitor Center in Vintgar Gorge welcomes tourists to one of the most popular natural sites worldwide. Designed by OFIS Architects, the building takes inspiration from traditional wooden cabins, reinterpreted in a clean and modern way.
Custom-made design solutions
At both entrance and exit, automatic sliding doors Doorson 300 were designed as a custom solution to fully match the building’s materials and colors.
On the exterior, the profiles of the doors are coated in RAL color to match the wooden façade panels. This ensures that the doors blend and remain visually discreet.
In the interior, the doors match the architectural design. The drive is hidden behind a wooden panel, maintaining a clean and minimalist look.
Functional and user friendly
Within a limited space, efficient use of every square meter is essential. The single sliding leaf moves to the side instead of swinging open, requiring no additional clearance space.
During peak season, the Visitor Center receives up to 2,290 visitors daily, with up to 245 people passing through the entrance simultaneously.
- The reliable sensors and touchless operation ensure safe and controlled access for all visitors.
- The two automatic sliding doors create clear directional flow, without any congestion.
By combining efficient visitor flow and smooth architectural integration, the automatic sliding doors set the tone for the entire Vintgar experience – openness, clarity, and quality from the moment visitors arrive.
