Thermana Laško is a well-known modern center for medical rehabilitation and wellness tourism in Slovenia, located at a source of natural thermal water, that offers a variety of programs to support health and well-being. It recently renovated its physiotherapy department – creating a beautifully designed and functional space with automatic access.

Doorson 300: prioritizing comfort for patients and staff

We worked closely with the client and rehabilitation experts to renovate the therapy area at Thermana Laško.

With the renovation, Thermana added extra capacity for rehabilitation. New rooms equipped with automatic sliding doors 300 offer better conditions for patient recovery while making daily work easier for staff.

The doors are not just a functional architectural element but also a key part of the user experience – for both patients and staff. For patients in rehab, often using walking aids, it’s important to move through spaces without physical and psychological barriers.

Smart design for a calm environment

Our goal was to create a pleasant, bright and supportive environment that gives patients a sense of safety and privacy, while providing staff with optimal working conditions. We focused a lot on how people move through the space – both patients and staff – wanting to establish clear, logical and calm movement paths. We explored lighting, acoustics, materials and the overall ambiance – all designed to feel calming and encouraging. We wanted the design to be clean and simple, but still smart in function – and that’s why Doorson automatic doors were the right choice.

Doorson 300 offers many customization options. In this case, the door profiles and drive are colored white, creating a clean and minimalist look that blends beautifully with the wooden wall panels, white corridor walls and matching white ceiling.

Milky glass door leaves allow soft light to pass while blocking direct views into treatment areas. Combined with warm interior tones, it helps create a calm and welcoming environment, ideal for healing and well-being.

A perfect duo for a perfect door control

The doors are controlled by the COM20 multifunctional touchscreen switch and a Smart switch. COM20 lets staff choose door modes and settings, while the Smart switch allows door opening on command – perfect for spaces where constant door opening anytime someone passes by isn’t necessary.

We’ve also noticed that patients enjoy the simple hand motion door activation – a small but meaningful gesture that adds comfort and a sense of modern, user-friendly technology. For staff, it makes daily tasks easier and support an efficient workflow.
